The wind made the main creek relatively unfishable, wearing the batteries out between holding in the wind and getting tangled up in the hydrilla. Surrendered and headed to the pads to fish open pockets as there wasn't as much water there as I would have liked. We hooked up ten minute in and had one in the boat.
Pushing back deeper into the pads, we had a follow and a retreat. Threw right back in, another follow. This time it picked up from the top of the grass and swam away. The quick wrist snap hookset, well, a couple of thrashes and fish off. (you gotta hit'em hard)
We threw back with the swimmy to the place to which we had watched the snakehead retreat. Fish on, line line breaks, fish off.
We had another blow up and miss and my crew wanted to make it an early night.
