July 14th Report

Also known as the first skunk of the season report…

Tim drove in the morning to the hotel in Indian Head from Staunton, VA for snakehead. He showed up for shrimps at 3PM and we talked for a bit. He as determined and I had to remind him all night long to stop and take a bottle of water. It was a hot and tough but, there were daytime hits, big hits. Tim was a great caster and I never had to tell him anything twice. I would be looking at a target and without saying anything, he’d cast to it. The first hit came early and broke off on the hookset. There were a few more hits and misses, pre-mature jerkulation…

The next hit hooked up and snakehead on and air-borne! I make my way forward and the toad comes flying back at us…DAMN! We got two more blow ups in the same set of pads. The rest of the night, nothing.

I had to use the ice water towel on my own neck twice. Bad night for me. 95 degrees, felt like 102 degrees is not pleasant for me. I was literally standing in a pool of my own sweat. Nine bottles of water and two Gatoraids, I was uttlerly beat.
